3 RCR PARACHUTE COMPANY
3 RCR PARACHUTE COMPANY
THE UNOFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE

Mike Company, of the Third Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment.

  • Is the only sub unit within the Regiment which has been designated to mantain the parachute role/capability.
  • There is also a designated Parachute company within 3 PPCLI (C Coy) and 3 R22er (A Coy).

Training is always at a high tempo and at any given time the majority of the Parachute                  Company may be tasked or on course.  This website was created for our families, to keep in        touch when we are away and to see what we've been doing.

  • This website is personally funded and maintained by a former member of 3 RCR Para Coy.

What manner of men are those who wear the maroon beret?

  • They are, firstly, all volunteers and are toughened by hard physical training. As a result they have that infectious optimism and that offensive eagerness which comes from physical well being. They have "jumped" from the air and by so doing have conquered fear.

  • Their duty lies in the van of the battle; they are proud of this honour and have never failed in any task. They have the highest standards in all things whether it be skill in Battle or smartness in the execution of all peacetime duties. They have shown themselves to be as tenacious and determined in defence as they are courageous in the attack. They are, in fact, men apart. 'Every man an Emperor.'

  • Of all the factors which make for success in battle the spirit of the warrior is the most decisive. That spirit can be found in full measure in the men who wear the maroon beret.

WATER JUMP!

On 31 May 2007, 3 RCR conducted a parachute
training exercise onto DZ Lamure Bay in Petawawa.

The weather did not co-operate!  Jumping was
scheduled to begin early in the day, however the
fog on the Ottawa river did not lift enough to jump
  until after lunch.

At least 90 jumpers got a chance to get their "Water Wings"
